Crystal View EqiestrIan

 About Crystal

Crystal brings 17 years of experience training horses and teaching riders to Crystal View Equestrian. Her background spans multiple disciplines, including hunter/jumper, eventing, dressage, Western pleasure, showing, and young-horse development.

Her passion is developing strong, confident, capable riders while helping horses reach their fullest potential. Whether she is working with a rider building confidence, developing a young horse, preparing a horse-and-rider team for the show ring, or working through challenges with a problem horse, Crystal approaches each partnership with patience, consistency, positivity, and clear communication.

Above all, Crystal believes the horse comes first. Her program is centered around creating a true partnership between horse and rider—one built on trust, understanding, confidence, and strong horsemanship.

Crystal is a positive and encouraging instructor who strives to create an environment where riders feel supported while being challenged to grow. Her goal is not only to help riders achieve their goals, but also to give them the knowledge, confidence, and horsemanship skills needed to become better partners for their horses.

Training Philosophy

The Horse Comes First: Every horse is an individual. Crystal believes training should support the horse’s confidence, understanding, and long-term development rather than rushing the process for quick results.

Groundwork Creates the Foundation: Every training program begins on the ground. Crystal strongly believes that what a horse and rider can successfully establish on the ground will transfer into their work under saddle. Groundwork is used to develop trust, communication, respect, responsiveness, and confidence.

Partnership Over Force: Riding is about more than asking a horse to perform. Crystal focuses on helping riders understand their horses and create a genuine partnership through communication, patience, consistency, and trust.

Confidence Through Encouragement: Crystal believes confident riders are developed through positive, constructive instruction. She constantly encourages her students while helping them safely push beyond their comfort zones and recognize what they are capable of accomplishing.

Developing the Whole Horse & Rider: The goal is not simply to achieve one result. Crystal strives to develop knowledgeable, capable riders and willing, confident horses who can continue progressing together.

Programs & Services

1. English Riding Lessons

Lessons are designed to develop balance, confidence, correct technique, communication, and strong horsemanship skills.

Instruction may include hunter/jumper, jumping, flatwork, dressage fundamentals, eventing foundations, and preparation for competition.

Crystal works to help each rider become more confident and independent while learning how to truly understand and communicate with their horse.

2. Horse Training

Crystal offers individualized training programs designed around each horse’s needs, personality, experience, and potential.

Training may include foundation work, groundwork, under-saddle development, improving responsiveness and communication, confidence building, refinement, and preparation for showing.

Crystal also works with challenging or “problem” horses displaying difficult or unwanted behaviors. Rather than simply correcting the behavior, her approach focuses on identifying the root of the problem and rebuilding the horse’s foundation through patience, consistency, groundwork, clear communication, and trust.

The goal is to develop a horse that is willing, confident, responsive, and happy in its work.

3. Young Horse Development

Crystal has a special passion for teaching and bringing along young horses.

Her approach emphasizes creating a strong foundation from the beginning through groundwork, confidence building, exposure, communication, patience, and progressive under-saddle education.

Each young horse is allowed to develop at an appropriate pace with the goal of creating a confident, well-rounded horse prepared for a successful future.

4. Problem & Challenging Horses

Crystal understands that difficult behavior often has an underlying cause. Instead of relying on quick fixes, she focuses on understanding why the horse is struggling and determining where communication or confidence has broken down.

By returning to the foundation and addressing issues through groundwork and progressive training, Crystal works to rebuild trust, respect, confidence, and communication between horse and rider.

Her goal is not simply to change a behavior—it is to help create a better understanding and a stronger partnership.

5. Horse Show Prep & Coaching

Crystal offers preparation and coaching for horse-and-rider teams working toward the show ring.

Training focuses on confidence, consistency, correct riding, presentation, preparation, and helping each partnership perform to the best of its ability while keeping the horse’s well-being at the center of the process.
